Paying £150 to Get Ghosted: The Logo Scam Episode

 This entry picks up right where the £15 Fiverr logo disaster left off. Since the logo I got back was basically just the Cannibal Corpse logo again, using it was never really an option — and that’s me being polite.

So, it was back to square one. This time, I went looking on Facebook and focused on Indonesian-style death metal artists, whose work I’ve always admired. I eventually found a designer whose logos were incredibly detailed, widely shared, and backed up by a large following. He seemed legitimate, experienced, and a safe bet.

After a few messages, we agreed on a price of $150, which felt fair given the quality of his work. Trying to cut corners where I could, I sent the payment via PayPal friends and family.

Immediately after that — nothing. Total radio silence.

Weeks later, after chasing multiple accounts, I finally received an apologetic message promising the logo plus extras I never asked for. I told him to go ahead and finish it…...that was the last I heard of him.

Lesson learned: if you’re sending money into the internet, insure it — or be prepared to lose it – like I did.

Spending £210 to Fix a Problem Nobody Would’ve Noticed

In today’s Corpse Diary entry, I explain how I managed to spend a lot of time and a lot of money fixing flaws in a logo that, realistically, nobody else would’ve ever spotted. After my last experience working with an unfamiliar artist, I decided to go back to someone I’d worked with plenty of times before.
