Those of the Obscene is about the audience, not the killers.

The song takes aim at the way violence is consumed as entertainment — particularly through true crime, serial killer documentaries, and media built around real suffering. The lyrics are deliberately confrontational, listing extreme acts not to glorify them, but to mirror the content people willingly choose to watch.

The perspective flips the usual dynamic, turning the gaze back onto the viewer. It highlights the contradiction of condemning perpetrators while simultaneously bingeing stories built from the same acts. Outrage and fascination exist side by side, separated only by a screen.

The track doesn’t claim viewers are responsible for the crimes themselves. It questions innocence, pointing out that these stories continue to exist because there is demand for them. Pain becomes consumable, episodic, and detached.

Spending £210 to Fix a Problem Nobody Would’ve Noticed

In today’s Corpse Diary entry, I explain how I managed to spend a lot of time and a lot of money fixing flaws in a logo that, realistically, nobody else would’ve ever spotted. After my last experience working with an unfamiliar artist, I decided to go back to someone I’d worked with plenty of times before. He was reliable, easy to communicate with, and—crucially—not a thief. This time, I didn’t send a reference logo at all. I couldn’t be bothered going through that again and risking another copy job.
